You Can Feel The Difference With Jimmy Pelezo

“When I got the interview with EAB, I sat down at Gaylon Richardson’s desk. He was the Vice President of EAB at the time and his first words to me were, ‘Do you know who I am?’ Being a nervous 23-year-old, I answered, ‘No sir.’ His response was, ‘I was your little league baseball coach.’ Right then I knew I was home. As I looked around the office, I saw people that I grew up with and already had memories of. I didn’t know any of this walking into the interview. Working at EAB is like working with family. Everyone genuinely cares about one another, both at work and at home. My family and I are truly blessed to have found such a wonderful career and company to work for.” – Jimmy Pelezo

Jimmy’s Time at EAB

Prior to joining EAB, Jimmy earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi and worked as an Engineering Recruiter.

After interviewing with his former little league baseball coach, Vice President of EAB at the time, Gaylon Richardson, Jimmy joined EAB as a Technician in Training in 2003.

With commitment and hard work, Jimmy became a certified Test and Balance Technician by 2005. This opened the door for Jimmy to build his portfolio, grow in his technical knowledge, and gain experience in a variety of projects. Over the next decade, Jimmy became an invaluable member of the EAB team, and found his “niche” in the Healthcare, Higher Education and Laboratory markets.

By 2015, Jimmy was certified as a Test and Balance Engineer (TBE) by the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), and by 2020, Jimmy was promoted to Senior Project Manager, and continued to oversee and pursue large healthcare and institutional projects.

Jimmy’s continual pursuit to serve at EAB with excellence earned him his current role as the Field Operations Manager at the Houston office.

Milestone Moments

After 18 years at EAB, these are only a few of Jimmy’s most notable projects. We are thankful for Jimmy’s commitment to quality and integrity in every optimum operating facility he delivers.

In 2011, the Alkek expansion to MD Anderson’s main campus in Houston, Texas was Jimmy’s first major project. This project expanded the hospital by adding twelve additional stories to the existing eleven story building. As a project supervisor, Jimmy was tasked with making sure that all the equipment being served by the exhaust systems was switched seamlessly with little to no impact on patient care.

As project coordinator, Jimmy led multiple teams over multiple years on the Zayed Building for Personalized Cancer Care project. This impressive building is The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center’s newest research facility.

Jimmy was promoted to Project Manager in 2016 and led the team on Houston Methodist Hospital’s Walter Tower. This sophisticated project entailed a 23-story, 1,000,000 sq. ft facility that consists of dedicated patient floors, Operating Rooms, Catheterization Labs, Intensive Care Units, and Bone Marrow Transplant Rooms and was completed in 2019.

More About Jimmy…

Which of these core values (Integrity, Quality, Consistency and Teamwork) do you most identify with, and what does it mean to you?

Definitely Teamwork. Teamwork is working together towards a common vision. EAB accomplishes this by adhering to our core values. This quote accurately describes the atmosphere of Teamwork at EAB: “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” -Henry Ford

What did you want to be when you were little?

I  wanted to be a professional baseball player. I grew up watching Ken Caminiti who played for the Houston Astros and was amazed at his ability and arm strength. In high school and college, I had one of the strongest arms on the field. I had a few first basemen that hated when the ball was hit to me. Sorry guys.

What do you like to do on your days off?

Hunting, fishing, boating, and watching my boys amaze me. My oldest son Alec is a Junior Elite gymnast training for the 2021 Trampoline and Tumbling Worlds in Baku, Azerbaijan.
