"After I finished college, I was introduced to EAB by a friend that still works with EAB to this day. I applied and got hired, but had no idea what testing and balancing was. In the beginning, I questioned whether air could actually be balanced. After a few years, I learned the value of air balancing and realized that my skill set fits perfectly with EAB."

Career Progression

2002
Thi graduated from Lamar University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and began his career at EAB as a Technician in Training.
2004
Thi passed the AABC technician test and became a certified technician. He served as a lead technician and provided daily system testing on large projects and led smaller-scale projects.
2005-2012
Serving as Project Supervisor, Thi gained tremendous experience in total system balancing on both small and large projects, providing a strong foundation for his career.
2005-2013
Over the course of eight years, Thi continued to hone his technical knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry by supervising multiple projects including: UT Health Medical School Research Laboratories, UTMDA Ambulatory Care, UT Health Institute of Molecular Medicine, UTMDA Bastrop Basic Research Education Primate Facility, and Houston Methodist Research Institute.
2013
Thi was promoted to Project Coordinator and had the unique privilege of working on the MD Anderson Cord Blood Bank. This was an extremely sensitive and technical project with unique system design, sequences, and pressure relationships. Thi also managed multiple teams on MD Anderson’s Life Science Research Laboratory. The accelerated schedule of this project demanded intense preparation and planning.
2015
Thi continued to hone his leadership and management skills working on numerous healthcare facilities. He was also certified as a Test and Balance Engineer (TBE) by the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC).
2017
Thi’s skills were tested as he led the technically challenging new construction of the Houston Methodist Hospital project in The Woodlands.
2018
With a promotion to Project Manager, Thi began to manage all projects for the six satellite Houston Methodist Hospital campuses including major expansions at the Bay Town, West Houston and The Woodlands locations.
Present
As Project Manager, Thi continues to provide expertise to healthcare clients in the Houston area.

Which of these core values (Integrity, Quality, Consistency and Teamwork) do you most identify with, and what does it mean to you?

I believe each core value is unique and has exceptional value of its own in defining EAB. However, I am partial to integrity because I learned it from my parents at a young age. The other three I have developed throughout my career at EAB. I also highly valued quality and consistency in what we do because it leaves our clients with dependable systems.

What is your ideal room temperature, and why?

My ideal room temperature is 74 degrees with a decent humidity level since I do not have much insulation.

What is your absolute favorite thing about working for EAB?

The continuous superior training and technical experience among our team members that I depend on every day to serve our clients.

What did you want to be when you were little?

What do you like to do on your days off?

I enjoy beaches and many outdoor activities with my family such as camping. I love watching sports, especially Texans football and Rockets basketball. I also enjoy playing basketball and tennis in my spare time.
