Our technically astute project managers, coordinators and supervisors develop and implement a test plan that covers all the HVAC components and verifies the appropriate interfacing between components. Our service includes reviewing documents and specifications during the design stage, construction observations, witnessing duct pressure tests, reviewing submittal data, and remitting reports with our observations.

We check for optimal noise, temperature, and airflow conditions, plus performance of pressurization and smoke control systems. HVAC Air Balancing tests cover peak demand and seasonal conditions. A resolution-tracking document identifies deficiencies between the specified and observed performance. After deficiencies are corrected, we retest.

Building Annual Verification

EAB offers annual verification for pressure sensitive areas in hospitals and lab environments to ensure comfort, safety, and an optimum operating facility. In implementing the verification testing, our team establishes the total air changes per room (either positive or negative) and required pressurization relationships between rooms.

If the areas do not meet the requirements, we then thoroughly investigate all possible solutions to make the corrections. After the deficiencies are corrected our team will, retest and submit a complete HVAC TAB report.

In addition to providing testing and balancing for new or replacement systems, EAB is frequently requested to investigate HVAC issues and make suggestions to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.

 

We are frequently engaged to scrutinize problems with starting and stopping manifolded systems, air handling units not operating to capacity and lack of water flow through hydronic systems.

 

For smoke control systems we check for failures of dampers closing, fans starting and sealed barriers. For hospitals and laboratories, we pinpoint problems with pressurization systems and adjust controls to maintain a healthy environment.
