Job Summary:

This role involves learning and applying fundamental Testing and Balancing (TAB) procedures, while progressively developing the skills required to become a certified TAB Technician. The Trainee is responsible for, demonstrating understanding of mechanical plans, basic calculations, and instrumentation operations, and adhering to safety protocols.

Location:
Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio

Responsibilities:

• Work under supervision to learn and execute basic balancing procedures, techniques, and technician responsibilities.
• Apply basic math skills to perform essential TAB calculations.
• Read and interpret mechanical plans to identify equipment and locate it on project sites.
• Accurately collect and record field data for basic HVAC systems.
• Adhere to and demonstrate a thorough understanding of safety requirements for each task.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers and supervisors.

Technician in Training Program Requirements:

• Participate actively in the EAB Technician Training Program by attending required classes and seeking additional help as needed.
• Prepare thoroughly for each training class and study assignments diligently.
• Pass the EAB Technician Test with a score of 80 or better to qualify for management’s recommendation to take the AABC Technician Certification Test.
• Pass the AABC Technician Certification Test.

Education:

• High school diploma or HSE required.
• Two years of college education preferred.
