EXPERIENCE WITH EAB

"One of my favorite parts of my job is having opportunities to troubleshoot technical problems in the field for our clients. I have always enjoyed trying to find out how things work, so troubleshooting when mechanical equipment is functioning incorrectly, has always made my job fulfilling. Since working here, it’s been a pleasure to build strong relationships with clients while demonstrating EAB’s core values. We are here to completely support our clients in any way that they need."

Career Progression

2009

In 2009, Alvin joined EAB as a Field Technician in Training at the Houston office.

2012

Alvin was certified as a Test and Balance Technician by the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) and began leading various small projects in the world’s largest medical complex, the Texas Medical Center.

2014

Backed by two of years of experience leading small projects in the Texas Medical Center, Alvin led the annual ASHRAE Standard 170 testing for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for all operating rooms, airborne isolation rooms, and pharmacies. EAB then gave Alvin the opportunity to further his skills in the K-12 Schools market.

2015

Once Alvin transitioned to K-12 Schools, he was given the opportunity to lead several new construction and renovation projects for elementary schools in multiple school districts. This gave Alvin the opportunity to encounter all aspects of an HVAC system and perform total system balances. After gaining knowledge and skills in both the Healthcare and K-12 Schools markets, he was promoted to TAB Project Supervisor.

2016

In 2016, Alvin took on his largest project to date…Cypress-Fairbanks ISD’s (CFISD) Cypress Park High School. This school is approximately 592,000 square feet and was built to accommodate 3,000 students. In addition to the high school, a separate dining facility and central plant were constructed on the 179-acre site.

2017

Alvin started overseeing all of EAB’s testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) services for CFISD’s new construction projects and renovations which included 20 consecutive projects. This allowed him to build a strong relationship with the district through client support, showing them his commitment to EAB’s core values. As a Project Supervisor, Alvin led the CFISD Natatorium project. This facility was a unique project with a non-typical sequence of operations to regulate the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) inside the natatorium. This building provides a home for competitive swimming and allows CFISD to accommodate large district swim meets. The natatorium contains a 50-meter pool with seating for more than 1,000 guests above the swimming deck, along with restrooms, concessions, classrooms, and locker room areas.

2018

One of Alvin’s most significant projects is Klein Cain High School in Klein ISD, one of the largest high schools in the Houston Metro area. The school is approximately 685,000 square feet, was constructed on an 83-acre site, and built to accommodate 3,500 students. Being such a large facility, the building is equipped with two separate heating water plants to effectively heat and dehumidify the building. During this time, Alvin was promoted to TAB Project Coordinator.

2019-2022

In 2019, Alvin was certified as a Test and Balance Engineer (TBE) by AABC. Throughout 2019-2022, he continued to oversee all of EAB’s TAB services for CFISD’s new construction and renovation projects. Alvin provided TAB services for more than 90 different projects in various K-12 schools.

2023-Present

In 2023, Alvin was promoted to Project Manager. He is currently overseeing all the EAB TAB projects in CFISD. He is working on his most prestigious projects: the CFISD Mark Henry Administration Building, and the CFISD Visual and Performance Arts Center.
