Career Progression
2014
Durwood began working full-time at EAB as a Technician in Training in the summer of 2014 after working as a part-time helper over his school vacations.
2016
Durwood was promoted to Technician in 2016 after earning his TAB Technician Certification from the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC).
2018
In 2018, Durwood was promoted to Project Supervisor and served in that role on the Christus Spohn Shoreline projects. From the initial pre-construction surveys to the final TAB, Durwood and the EAB Team were committed to making the project successful.
2020
Durwood was promoted to Project Coordinator in 2020 and performed this role for the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures projects. The projects encompassed the construction of a new office building, warehouse building, firehouse, lab building, and site. EAB provided Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing and Commissioning services for these projects. The undertaking of these ventures brought forth a set of unique challenges in terms of scheduling, given the compressed construction timeline, as well as troubleshooting scenarios that required specialized attention.
2017 – 2022
Durwood served as a member of the EAB Wellness Committee before assuming the role of Chair from 2019 - 2022.
2020 – 2022
Durwood was the Project Coordinator for the TxDOT Campus Consolidation projects. This ambitious endeavor involved the consolidation of the TxDOT Campus and the construction of a central utility plant (CUP), parking garage, warehouse building, office building, and lab building. The project schedule for these developments faced significant compression, prompting Durwood to mobilized and lead team members from other EAB branch offices in order to meet the demanding timeline. Notably, these projects marked a significant milestone for the San Antonio Office, as they were the first large active chilled beam projects for this branch location.
2021
Durwood earned his AABC Test and Balance Engineer Certification (TBE) in 2021. Always willing to serve, he also joined the EAB Project Document Review Committee.
