The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is a large technical organization dedicated to building systems, sustainability and energy conservation. The society sponsors research, publications and technical programs to enhance the overall industry. Engineered Air Balance Co., Inc. has been actively involved with ASHRAE committees throughout its history. EAB employees were instrumental in starting the technical committee in ASHRAE for Testing and Balancing, writing ASHRAE Handbook Chapters for Testing and Balancing, serving as an ASHRAE liason to the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Standard 90A committee (Standard for Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems) and updating the UL standard 555 on fire and smoke rated damper testing. EAB employees have also served on the Technical Activities Committee (TAC), Standards Committee and other governing committees within the society.
