The Early Years

Dedication and continuous learning are critical to professional growth in our industry. Christopher Monday’s career trajectory at Engineered Air Balance (EAB) exemplifies this truth perfectly. Let’s dive into the career milestones of an individual who has become a fixture in the test and balance industry through hard work and a commitment to excellence.

Every expert was once a beginner, and for Christopher, the journey began in the dusty confines of a sheet metal shop. During his high school summers, he apprenticed in the art of HVAC ductwork and fittings. This wasn’t just a summer job; it was the foundation of a career built on understanding the skeleton of HVAC systems – the ductwork.

The Test and Balance Chapter

Chris MondayWith the basics, Christopher stepped into a larger arena as a TAB Technician at Johnson Controls in Indiana. Here, he first encountered the intricate world of Test & Balance (TAB), a field dedicated to ensuring HVAC systems operate at their designed potential.

In 2011, his efforts were recognized twice over as he earned certifications from both the Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Bureau (TABB) and the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB), putting official stamps on his growing expertise.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Christopher expanded his technical prowess by becoming a seasoned control technician, adept in the wiring of building automation control systems – the nervous system of any modern building’s HVAC equipment.

A New Frontier: The EAB Family

Christopher’s relationship with EAB began on the ground, quite literally, at the Eskenazi Hospital project in Indianapolis. Here, he not only honed his skills but also formed connections with the EAB team. What started as a light-hearted suggestion to relocate to Dallas turned into a pivotal life decision when EAB opened its arms to him.

After a heartwarming Texas welcome, Christopher convinced his then soon-to-be fiancé to move to Dallas. By 2014, he was an official member of the EAB Dallas branch, and not long after, he received his TAB Technician certification from the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC).

Christopher climbed another rung on the ladder, becoming a Commissioning Specialist in 2017. Here, he took on projects like the LEED Silver Certified Denton County Admin Complex Phase 3, showcasing his and EAB’s commitment to sustainable building practices.

His expertise further solidified in 2019 when he became a Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) through the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG).

2020 marked another milestone as Christopher was promoted to Commissioning Coordinator, leading projects such as the University of North Texas Building One Project. Under his guidance, the team achieved more than operational efficiency; they contributed to the campus’s legacy.

The year 2023 heralded Christopher’s ascension to the role of Commissioning Project Manager. This new role is not just a promotion; it is a testament to nearly two decades of relentless pursuit of expertise and excellence in the field of HVAC commissioning.

Christopher Monday’s career at Engineered Air Balance is a blueprint for aspiring HVAC professionals. From an apprentice to a Commissioning Project Manager, his story tells us that with passion, dedication, and a willingness to learn, the sky’s the limit. Christopher’s story isn’t just about personal achievement – it’s a narrative that underlines the importance of building systems that breathe life into our structures and the professionals who make it happen.

EAB has not only gained an employee but has nurtured a leader who will continue to ensure that systems run at their peak and buildings provide the comfort and efficiency we all rely on. Congratulations to Christopher on an exemplary journey so far, and here’s to many more years of success and innovation!
