“I get a lot of fulfillment from finding resolutions to difficult problems for clients.”
– Durwood Lassiter, III, TBE
Durwood’s History at EAB
In 2014, Durwood began working full-time at EAB as a Technician in Training after working as a part-time helper over his school vacations.
In 2016, he achieved a significant milestone by becoming certified as a Test and Balance Technician by the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC). Just two years later, in 2018, Durwood was promoted to Project Supervisor, effectively overseeing the Christus Spohn Shoreline projects.
In 2020, he further climbed the ladder to become Project Coordinator, leading the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures projects and, in the same year, took on the many-year TxDOT Campus Consolidation projects.
Durwood’s commitment to personal and professional growth was evident when he obtained the AABC Test and Balance Engineer Certification (TBE) in 2021 and offered his expertise to the EAB Project Document Review Committee. By 2023, his exceptional journey of dedication and leadership culminated in his well-deserved promotion to Project Manager at EAB.
Milestone Projects
In 2020, Durwood was the Project Coordinator for the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures projects. The projects encompassed the construction of a new office building, warehouse building, firehouse, lab building, and site. EAB provided Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing, and Commissioning services for these projects. The undertaking of these ventures brought forth a set of unique challenges in terms of scheduling, given the compressed construction timeline, as well as troubleshooting scenarios that required specialized attention.
Durwood also acted as the Project Coordinator for the TxDOT Campus Consolidation projects in 2020 – 2022. This ambitious endeavor involved the consolidation of the TxDOT Campus and the construction of a central utility plant (CUP), parking garage, warehouse building, office building, and lab building. The project schedule for these developments faced significant compression, prompting Durwood to mobilize and lead team members from other EAB branch offices in order to meet the demanding timeline. Notably, these projects marked a significant milestone for the San Antonio Office, as they were the first large active chilled beam projects for this branch location.
