What Gar Means To Us

A Mentor and Friend

“Gar has been my mentor for more than 30 years. “Watching Gar communicate with contractors, engineers, and owners was inspirational. Gar could calm frustrated clients down as he commanded the attention from the whole group describing HVAC issues and offering a solution to solve building issues. Gar had a knack to become your buddy in just a few minutes using his calm intelligent conversation mixed in with a little humor. Thanks, Gar, for being you.” – Tim Dudley

Gar’s ability to establish rapport quickly, combined with his calm and intelligent conversation style, has endeared him to colleagues and clients alike. His natural talent for connecting with people has not only enhanced business relationships but has also fostered a sense of camaraderie within the industry. Gar’s presence will be sorely missed, as he leaves behind a void that will be hard to fill.

A Trusted Resource and Leader

“Gar has been a resourceful leader in the Houston office and overall at EAB. He has always been a trusted resource for me on technical issues, the K-12 and Higher Education markets, as well as the history of EAB. Beyond those things, he’s a gentleman and a straight shooter. I have always valued his insight and perspective as we have navigated challenges and triumphs in our business. He will be missed both within EAB as well as our industry. We wish him the best in the next chapter of his life!” – Justin Garner

Gar’s impact extends far beyond his exceptional people skills. Colleagues have long relied on him as a knowledgeable source, seeking his guidance on technical matters and his deep understanding of the K-12 and Higher Education markets. As a true leader, Gar has consistently provided insightful and valuable perspectives, guiding his peers and the company through both challenging times and moments of success.

A Dedicated Teammate

Gaylon Richardson

“I have had the opportunity of working with Gar for many of his 48 years. We traveled to Houston in 1975 and 1976 working on the expansion of the old UT Dental School, The UT Medical School, and MD Anderson’s Clark Clinic, which was a major reason he decided to finish his degree in 1977. When Gar finished his assignment in Arizona, at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, he visited Houston on a beautiful day in the spring of 1987 and decided to move to Houston to assist in growing our K-12 Schools and University markets. He excelled with his great communication skills and was instrumental in making our K-12 and University markets successful.” – Gaylon Richardson
